So, what will I learn?

rachelemmawaring -brandshoot-248.jpg

The quick version:

In a nutshell, we’ll cover…

  • Finding your visual inspiration, and honing your unique visual style

  • How to master video, and how to start creating it consistently in a way that works for you

  • How to take better photos with just your phone

  • Styling flat lays and lifestyle shots, all in your own recognisable way

  • Defining your brand personality, and making it cohesive

  • Graphic creation for your business

  • How to include all of this in a busy schedule

The detailed version:

I like you - you’re thorough. Here’s a more in depth view of the course content:

MODULE 1 - Finding Your Style

Art direction is all about confidently bringing a creative vision to life: so we’ll first of all deep-dive on what your style actually is, and how to show off your brand in the light it deserves. We’ll cover visual research, finding your ideal customers, and how to speak to them visually with your content.

MODULE 2 - Up-Level Your Imagery

You don’t need a fancy camera or a swanky studio to take incredible images of your products or work. Together we’ll learn how to use just your phone and some styling knowhow to create photos you love so much you want to plaster them on the side of a building. Armed with a new understanding of simple lighting, editing, styling and composition, you’ll gain a newfound confidence in your ability to DIY your photos.

MODULE 3 - Mastering Video Content

Video is gold dust for small businesses, and it’s also one of the most effective ways to sell, when you get it right - so I’ll show you how to confidently use video for your business (whether that’s with you in front of or behind the camera!). We’ll cover the intimidating tech stuff in a simple and accessible way, and you’ll feel empowered to be able to create video content that SELLS. Again, no fancy equipment needed here, your phone is all you need!

MODULE 4 - Maximise Your Brand

We’ll take everything we’ve learnt so far and learn how to bring it together under one umbrella, resulting in a cohesive, confident, visual online presence that makes you want to squeal with joy. We’ll chat about colour psychology, being creatively cohesive, and learn tips on creating beautiful graphics for your content. Plus, I’ll teach you how I keep this joy going in my business even when I don’t have loads of time, with a chance to steal my workflows and create templates of your own.

BONUSES:

  • LIVE GUEST WORKSHOP: Aiza, owner and brand designer at Studio Coya, will be chatting about how understanding your own brand strategy will help you make decisions as the art director in your own business. She’s been in the industry for over 12 years and has run a few creative businesses herself, so she is a total pro and has walked the walk!

  • Practical challenges, worksheets, and activities to play along with. Expect a joyful and gamified experience, fun is a top priority!

How will I learn it?

  • 4 modules with bitesize pre-recorded practical lessons, released all at once for you to work through at your own pace.

  • We’ll have 6 weeks together in total - after our first orientation week (to get you settled and get the party started), we’ll have 4 weekly live calls (with an implementation week in the middle), to help you implement the skills you’ve learned, get personalised feedback if you want it, and bounce ideas around to apply the learnings to your business.

  • Lots of opportunities for questions and personalised feedback in a way that works for you, whether that’s in the live calls, replays, or the Slack community.

  • Prompt based creative challenges to get those juices flowing.

  • Optional community vibes in a friendly, supportive Slack group of like-minded business-owners.

  • Access to all recorded lessons in a well organised course hub, including extended access (for as long as I’m running the training in the future), so you can refer back to the prerecorded videos if you need to.

  • Replays of the live calls, along with the Slack group, will be available for 4 weeks after the group programme ends.

ORIENTATION WEEK STARTS ON 30TH MAY.

“I got so much out of this course. I wavered and wobbled about whether to press ‘buy’ and I am so, SO glad I did. My business aims for this year included ‘learn to use video’ and also to get more confident in my branding and styling, and this course delivered both of those things and more…. In fact, I got my very first press coverage for my art just after I finished the course and I don’t think that is a coincidence. The piece of mine that was featured in ‘Simple Things’ magazine was styled using Rachel’s tips!”

FAQs

Q: How much of a time commitment is involved?

A: I designed the structure of this course to be as bite-size and actionable as possible, for you to work through at a pace that works for you. The whole point of this is to help make it work in a busy entrepreneur’s schedule! Each of the four pre-recorded module runs between 40mins - 2 hours - there are approx 4.5 hours of pre-recorded video in the whole course, split up into a collection of short lessons. These are released in orientation week, and you can either binge them all at once, or spread the learning out over the 5 weeks, whatever works best for your schedule and learning style. The live group sessions will be approx 1 hour a week, and you can watch the replays if you can’t attend live.

The homework you create in the training you’ll also be able to use as content for your business, so it’s great accountability to batch lots of content with support along the way.

Q: How long will the recordings be available for?

A: You’ll have extended access to the pre-recorded modules, meaning for as long as I’m running this course in the future, you’ll be able to access the videos to refer back to them if you need to. The live Q&A replays will expire 4 weeks after the live experience has finished. This is to encourage you to take ACTION, so you can get the most out of the experience and stay away from procrastination station!

Q: What types of business is this for?

A: This program is built for small business owners who need to DIY their own visual content. So whether you’re a product business, you sell a service, or you’re a content creator - as long as you need to create your own photos, videos and graphics for your business on a regular basis, this is for you.

Q: Will the videos have captions?

A: Yes! All of the recorded content is captioned, and the lives will be sent away for transcription and replays will be updated with captions approx 24 hours later.

Q: I’m an established business and have been going a few years, is this course right for me?

A: We’ve had both established and new business owners join the program in the past. If visuals are something you sometimes struggle with in your business, and you’d like to improve your DIY skills, or get inspiration again after being in a creative rut, then this course is right for you.

Q: I haven’t launched my business yet - will this still be good for me?

A: It can be, but my suggestion is that you only join if you’re ready to start making visual content NOW, even if you haven’t launched yet, so that you can get feedback on your work in real time.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: I of course want every participant in the program to love the experience! In the event that you’re unsatisfied, refunds are offered on a case by case basis, and will need proof of task implementation and course participation to be considered.

Q: Do you offer any “pay what you can” spaces?

A: Yes I do, I have 5 pay-what-you-can spaces available for those who identify as being part of a marginalised group under the Equalities Act. Read more here.

“I can't even being to tell you how much i enjoyed the course. It has helped me so much, getting clearer on what I am actually doing! Total game changer. I think the real shift for me though this year, has been finally finding more enjoyment in all these tasks… I’m taking more photos as I do things, video for YouTube and my website, making sure I get Reels and Pinterest content too. Then when it comes to creating content I have a bank of it ready to go.”

Meet Rachel:

That’s me! I’m a creative marketing consultant, helping small businesses reach more people and live their dreams from my colourful flat in South East London. My love affair with styling and visuals began with a degree and career in set design, where I learnt invaluable lessons that not only informed but transformed my business when I set up on my own.

I’m on a mission to help small creative businesses take back their time and energy by making visuals and content creation fun, and impactful!

“Throughout the course, I felt supported and had multiple lightbulbs moments, Rachel is a great teacher and provides clarity when in doubt! When Rachel says she wants you to have fun with it (believe me or not) it is absolutely true - I feel more confident with my visuals & brand identity. I highly recommend this course at any stage of your business!
